Process: Develop Your Content and Structure

Development is the phase of the process where things begin to take shape: the navigation and individual pages are created and linked together, graphics are put in their place, and any applications, such as a contact form or newsletter, are built.

Usable, maintainable, standards-based development

That's a lot of words that you normally don't see together. Let's break down what it means.

Usable

This goes hand in hand with the information architecture and graphic design of your web site. It will have consistent navigation, clear design, and will be well thought out, and therefore will be inherently easy to use. This is good for your visitors, as they will be able to quickly find what they want, without the web site's design or structure getting in the way.

Maintainable

If your web site needs a major update several months or years in the future, the process will be quite simple. We develop a template for each web site that is easily updatable from a central location. Changed once, changed everywhere. This makes updating your site to a fresh look or replacing your telephone number that's displayed on every page a snap.

Standards-based

Web site creation that is standards-based means that you'll reach the full internet audience, not just those who own a particular operating system and browser. Also, it means that as web site technology advances in the future, your web site won't be left behind--it will be easily updated to use new technology, if desired.
